About this course

Every technical decision you make rests on an assessment of the hair and scalp in front of you, and that assessment is usually made in about eight seconds while you are also taking a coat. This course slows that moment down and makes it rigorous.

It covers what a bond actually is and which ones you break, how to tell chemical damage from thermal from mechanical, how to test porosity and elasticity in a way that produces a decision rather than a vague impression, and what bond builders, proteins and moisture each genuinely do — including the protein overload that gets misdiagnosed as dryness and treated with more protein.

It also covers the part of the job that carries real responsibility: recognising the scalp conditions and patterns of hair loss that need a GP or a trichologist, and knowing what you may say, what you must not, and how to say it kindly.

Reviews here only ever come from people who actually enrolled and completed the course, so there is nothing to show until somebody has. We would rather leave this empty than fill it.

Questions

Is this a trichology course?
No, and it is careful about the boundary. Trichology is a separate professional discipline. This course teaches you to recognise when something is outside your scope and refer it, which is the opposite of trying to be a trichologist.
Can I diagnose a scalp condition after this?
No. You can recognise presentations, avoid working on a scalp you should not touch, and refer appropriately. Diagnosis is a medical act. The course is explicit about the wording that keeps you on the right side of that line.
We already patch test. Is module 8 worth it?
Most salons patch test; fewer record it in a way that would help them in a claim, and a good number test on a schedule that does not match what their manufacturer or insurer actually requires. It is worth the forty minutes.
Is six hours enough?
It is a focused course and it is priced as one. It does not pad — there is no filler module on the history of shampoo. If you want the chemistry extended into colour decision-making, take the balayage or correction course alongside it.
