About this course

Builder gel in a bottle turned a specialist skill into something almost every tech offers, and along the way a lot of the structural understanding got lost. Lifting, cracking, service breakdown at week two and clients whose natural nails are thinner every time they visit are nearly all consequences of the same two things: prep and apex.

This course rebuilds both. Where the apex actually belongs and how to see it from the side, how much product a nail needs and where, structural correction on bitten and damaged nails, and prep that achieves adhesion without removing nail plate.

It also takes seriously the two safety issues the nail industry discusses far too quietly: HEMA and acrylate sensitisation, which is now common enough that every tech will meet it, and e-file technique, which causes a great deal of the damage clients blame on the gel.

Reviews

Reviews here only ever come from people who actually enrolled and completed the course, so there is nothing to show until somebody has. We would rather leave this empty than fill it.

Questions

Is this a beginner nail course?
No. It assumes you are a qualified, insured nail technician already applying builder gel. Learning nails from scratch needs practical, assessed training.
Do you cover acrylic and hard gel too?
The structure, apex and prep principles apply across all of them and are taught as such. Product-specific handling is focused on builder gel in a bottle, because that is what the course is named after and we would rather be specific than vague.
I do not use an e-file. Should I skip module 5?
Take it anyway. A good proportion of techs eventually add one, and the damage assessment content helps you recognise what a previous tech's e-file has done to a client's nails.
Is HEMA-free product the answer to allergies?
It is more complicated than the marketing suggests, and module 6 explains why — other acrylates sensitise too, and the main issue is uncured product contacting skin regardless of the monomer. The course gives you the working practice rather than a product recommendation.
